This zoo (pretty much a farm) is nestled into the grounds of a large park. It’s kept pretty clean, and the staff is very friendly. What I like most about this one is that it is almost 100% interactive. The petting zoo animals can pretty much all be fed, and in many cases you can go inside with them. Cheap zoo, would be ideal for toddler birthday parties.
Highlights:
- Pig – during our visit, they took the pic for a walk around the zoo! Very unique
- Camels – feeding a camel is an enjoyable experience, so it was nice that this was offered here. The camel was very happy, hungry, and friendly on our visit.
- Pony rides – as I mentioned earlier, animal interactions are key to a zoo. Pony rides are a definite way to get kids to remember a zoo. The ride was of decent length. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.
- Constant animal introductions – This zoo is constantly doing something new. During our visit a keeper brought out a chameleon and a guinea pig. They also did a raccoon training demonstration and a clydesdale training demonstration. There’s always something going on.
Lows:
- Expansion – for what this zoo is, I don’t have any complaints: clean, friendly, priced-right, and well-run. My advice would be to expand and find a way to incorporate conservation a bit more into demonstrations
