Our experts tell you what you need to know in our Potter Park Zoo Mom Tips.
- Parking – Entering the Potter Park area (park, picnic grounds, and zoo) is $5 per car. There are a lot of good spots – we found one under a tree since it was so hot.
- Cost – This Zoo is reasonably priced. Adult admission is $12, and child admission is $5. AZA reciprocal membership gives you free admission – you just pay for parking!
- Strollers – We would say yes to the stroller. This zoo has a lot of twists and turns and uneven ground, so I think a stroller would be helpful.
- Bathrooms – There are men and women bathrooms upon immediate entry to the zoo that both have changing tables for babies. These were very clean!
- Daily Activities – In the open area inside the zoo entrance is a bulletin board with the day’s activities. Check this out! It tells when they have keeper chats, as well as any other special events.
- Food – You can bring your own food into the zoo. They have a picnic area at the front and toward the back where you can eat. There were also multiple snack stands throughout the zoo.
- Playground – There is a giant playground outside the zoo. Inside the zoo, there are many photo opportunities with picture boards where your children can put their head inside to be like the animal.
