In addition to the materials that we have created on our Educational Materials page, we want you to be aware of the materials that zoos are putting out for you to use. Below are links to videos, activities, and other resources that zoos have created during the stay at home order.
- Biomes of the World – Check out this page for snapshots of exhibits that demonstrate the many biomes in our ecosystem, and how they are represented in zoos.
- Akron Zoo – Lunch and Learn videos on YouTube. These are mainly informational, but sometimes include an activity.
- Blank Park Zoo – At Home Lessons includes age-specific activities for toddlers up through eighth graders. The activities are listed by age and animal.
- Brookfield Zoo – This link includes both “Bringing the Zoo to You” live Facebook Chat videos, as well as “I Scienced at Home” activities, broken out by age group.
- Cincinnati Zoo – This link is an archive to their “Home Safari” live Facebook chats, including activities that accompany the videos.
- Cleveland Metroparks Zoo – This link is to all of their “Virtual Classroom” Videos.
- Dallas Zoo – This page is jam packed with activities to keep your kids busy. It has videos of keeper chats, coloring pages you can download, activities you can download, and youtube videos to watch.

- Kansas City Zoo – Hands on learning activities for Pre-k – 4th Grade
- Lincoln (Nebraska) Children’s Zoo – A link to their “Keeper Corner” videos and activities.
- Montgomery Zoo – Scroll to the bottom of the page to see videos of their keeper chats.
- National Aviary – The Education Corner lists out a new topic of resources each week. So far these have included baby birds, penguins, backyard birds, and flamingos. Resources range in variety but may include videos, coloring pages, word searches, and more.
- New York Aquarium – A video link to their “Zoodle” activity, which teaches you how to draw an African Penguin. Our 8-year-old did this and was pretty much spot on to the drawing they modeled!
- Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo – “Do the Zoo at Home” is a section of videos and activities for grades K-12, split out by age range. Many of these activities include movement and ways to keep your little ones busy!
- Oregon Zoo – Zoo at Home Videos and Activities. These include crafts as well as movement games and simulations.
- Riverbanks Zoo – A link to their YouTube Channel where they house their “Z-learning” videos.
- Saint Louis Zoo – A link to their blog where they recap the #BringTheSTlooToYou activities from the past week.
- Sedgwick County Zoo – A compository of their Nature STEAM activities
