Our experts tell you what you need to know in our Safari Lake Geneva Mom Tips.
- Cost – Cost is always subjective, and I don’t think there’s a right answer here. Comparatively, this drive-through safari is in the middle-high end compared to others like it. Typical adult cost is $11-24, and this one is $18.95 for adults, and $11.95 for kids. However, it is a bit small for that price. When we visited on May 24, nothing else was open, so it was totally worth it for us!
- How long does it take? The nice thing is that you can loop through as many times as you would like. We looped three times, spending about 1.5 hours in the park.
- Feeding – A bucket for animal food costs $5. This was actually a pretty good deal, as each bucket lasted more than one loop through the park.
- Bathrooms – We were pleasantly surprised to find portable bathrooms in the front by the parking lot. These weren’t port-a-pottys either. They were small trailers, like you’d see at concerts, with one each for men, women, and family. They were VERY clean.
- Animals – The park has several different species, including alpacas, bison, camels, donkeys, emu, llamas, nilgai, ostrich, water buffalo, watusi, zebra, and zebu.
- Parking – There is a small parking lot where you can get out and stretch your legs for a bit, since you’re not walking around at all in the park.
- Food – There is no food for sale, and you shouldn’t have any of your own food out during your visit, as animals can reach into your car.
How long does it take to drive through the park?
If you’re trying to maximize your trip, probably 1-2 hours tops; if you’ want to get out of there as soon as possible, you could do one loop in less than 30 mins.
Does this require online reservations?
Yes! They are booked up 1-2 weeks in advance, so you will need to make a reservation online.
Do they seem to be taking social distancing seriously?
Yes! You only have to come into contact with one worker. She greets you as you drive up to scan your ticket and give you animal food (if you ordered it). She is wearing a mask and keeps her distance when possible. Other than that, you’re free to drive through the park without other interactions.
